"YASHODHARA":: THE UNTOLD STORY

The Buddha’s life is about renunciation; he left his riches, his wife, child and kingdom to pursue enlightenment. He reached Nirvana, but he left his wife, child, mother and father very sad and upset.Yashodhara, the wife of the Buddha, who he abandoned two days after she gave birth to their son Rahula. Yashodhara underwent, first as a young mother, and then as a bitter angry and wise woman.Yashodhara was resentful of the choice Buddha had made in abandoning her and her son and she expresses her feelings about the Buddha’s hypocrisy here. "He discarded us like a sack of rocks. For what? ...Adoration for a coward - a man who talks about peace, but leaves his family in torment?" Here is Yashodhara reminiscing with her best friend Kisa. "Remember, Kisa, desire is a trap…and desirelessness is liberation… just think how many years I believed in that rubbish, only to realize I had done it all out of desire anyway."But Buddha’s story after leaving Yashodhara, was not simply to search for truth . He became involved with a courtesan, Ambapali, who was Buddha’s partner for a while after Yashodhara had been abandoned.  Yashodhara strangely seems to hold Ambapali in high regard, comparing her favourably to the Buddha: "You know Ambapali is a Buddha..if she had been given her full rights and seen in the light of her understanding and devotion to seeking the truth, it is she and not Siddhartha that you and the others would all be talking about."
And then Yashodhara descends into old age and sickness, and makes an attempt to forgive the Buddha for the pain and suffering he had caused her and her family. In her state just before death she is telling Buddha to still do the right thing! "Come back I yell at Siddhartha, who had been floating above me..Your son is here I shout, caring nothing about the state of my soul or the adoration of the Buddhas. He needs your heart." Come back you coward". one need to recognizethat it is hard for the women that get left behind and ignored when men decide to pursue the spiritual path. What a great lady "yashodhara" was?? despite of so many mundane events, she
never lost hope n faith!!! thousands salutes..

  1. Buddha was eunuch. Married at 16 and born child at 29. And after seeing child, he had left his home. This child was son of Devadatta. The total family was incestuous. In history, it is written that all married couple were cousins, but actually not cousin, had direct relationship. So this the basic reasons why Buddha was against family life. He spreads monastery life, in world. If a man has strong and correct family life, he must search religion from his life, not leaving from life. He was nastick, and his idea for 0-ism does find any path to the world.

Buddha spoiled life Nanada(half brother) too making him leave his wife too. Buddha promised Nanada, if he leave his beautiful wife, He(Buddha) will give him(Nanda) an apsara(fairy lady) for his lust. It was a false brain-wash
    to Nanada.

Anyway Buddha ruined family life of mankind at that time, as because he was eunuch. And eunuch is born from incestuous copulation.

    1. If Buddha was an eunuch, you are the person who fucked your own sister and had the guts to deliver the baby by yourself too. Am I not right?

(How does it feel to be labeled thus?)

Prove it how Rahula was the son of Devdatta or else take your mouth to where your sister is laying it open her hole for you to chomp on.

For your kind info: No religion what so ever can even come close to where Buddhism begins! If i really want, I can skin you alive in public forums as this and making you look like the greatest fool on earth for the whole world to laugh at. So shut the fuck up. Go pray to your ficticious god. You guys are like, "We do all the hardwork and thank god for the blessing." Not realizing, it is you yourself to thank not some aliens no one has seen. You guys have been lied to all these centuries. Fucked up humans!

    2. You truly are disgusting indeed full of filth, lust and hatred. You are abandoned by The Lord.

Yashodhara's love for Lord Buddha was immortal and when he returned she fell at his feet and worshipped. He returned his love for her with his telling of The ChandKinnara Jataka on how they will always be together on moon mountain.

He tells the reason why he left her in The Matanga Jataka, he loved her and wanted to truly become God for her.

You are truly evil hell beings for attacking The Lord.

    3. If you aren't Buddhist, then I must suggest you to properly at least understand the true intention of the dhamma

  2. I am hugely offended by this lame (butt hole) of a blog piece written merely to taint Buddha's image. I am a Buddhist and from not India. No wonder all of Buddha's future prophecies after his parinirvana were to happen outside india, and so it has been happening, Buddha's teachings are timeless! Just because you are from where Buddha was born doesn't give you totally unenlightened views and opinions of the Lord. No wonder, india is a country filled with filth as evidently liars/manipulators/unashamed skinless junkies like you make its citizens. You havent a clue what you are harping on, do you? Fucking Cunt of a woman! .

    1. Yes the blogger herself is butt ugly. Thank you, without you The True Dhamma would not have survived in this disgusting land who cannot even understand what true religion is. If God came, these monkeys would attack him.

    3. You've lost the rights to be a Buddhist by doing so, this woman has posted a wonderful article, no matter some of the mistakes in it. If you have any problem, please correct her mistake and not just inflict shame and insult upon her and her dear motherland

  4. In ancient India, women must have a son to get favour.
When a son was born, the prince went and looked and called him Rahula, by this action, he recognized the boy as his son and the mother. This recognition is important as well.
Yasodhara led a royal life in the kingdom of Sakya, she needed no concerns, she was protected, looked after, respected, given the status of a queen.
When Prince Siddhartha came back to his kingdom as Buddha, she asked Rahula to ask his father as his heir to give him what a father should give. Rahula became a novice monk at age 7.
Princess Yasodhara became an arahant later. She is absolutely respected by Buddhists.

  5. Dear sister Rashmee,
Please don't write things like this, it's highly demeritorious to think or fascinate bad about a personality like a Buddha, who himself is the definition of purity. It's many times more dangerous to write these things in a forum where many people come and read. This life is not worthy without being able to love and devotion. It would be a huge loss for our human life if we don't find somebody we can love, give our devotion, respect, veneration. It definitely starts with giving love and respect to our own parents and then climbs up to the personalities like Buddha. If we don't see good in something it's good not disparage either.

    Thanks
    A well wisher brother

  6. Lord Buddha wasn't involved with the ambapali, but preached merely Buddhism to her. Pay proper respects and take extra care of description towards the Lord. THANK YOU

  7. Don't collect Sins by disrespecting believes of the Buddhist people.
Yashodhara is a Good Character to follow up by the young girls who are getting married soon. So don't mislead by writing these kind of articles.
